$1.3BN in Capital Commitments and Fundings
13 New Platform Transactions
7 Credit Facility Upsizes
25 DDTL Fundings to Existing Borrowers
ALEXANDRIA, Va.– Oxford Finance LLC (“Oxford”), a leading specialty finance firm providing flexible financing solutions to companies worldwide across multiple sectors, including life sciences, healthcare services, business services and software & technology, is pleased to announce that its Leveraged Lending Group set another annual record with over $1 billion in total capital deployed to new and existing borrowers, with loans primarily used to support M&A and organic growth initiatives.
The Group provided ~$1.2 billion in new capital commitments in 2024, with platform investments made alongside seven new sponsor relationships as well as new and follow-on investments with repeat private equity clients. While the majority of the Group’s deal flow was in the healthcare & life sciences sectors, our business services & technology industry vertical coverage resulted in multiple closings of non-healthcare platform investments.
Although lower than expected by many market participants and still below 2021 and 2022, private equity-backed M&A activity continued its upward trend relative to 2023. Debt capital markets fully reopened this year with significant investor interest and activity in private credit, which in turn drove increasingly competitive pricing and terms.
Looking ahead, we expect middle market M&A activity to continue its upward trajectory in 2025 and for debt capital markets to remain competitive. In this credit environment, our portfolio of borrowers and their private equity investors recognize Oxford’s value-added knowledge, long operating history, flexible capital solutions, and efficient execution capabilities.
